Downtown Raleigh Store
John Kane, manager of Kane Realty Group, developer of North Hills, has set his sights (websites?) on downtown Raleigh.
Based on files gotten because of the INDY recently from the City of Raleigh, Kane offered to choose the city-owned land at 301 Hillsborough Street—a parking area across the street from the Dawson Condominiums and Campbell University law school— for $3.1 million early last August. Within the purchase arrangement, Kane Realty claims it promises to develop the site "with a full-service grocery store."
"after the acquisition agreement is performed, the buyer shall work with good-faith to get approvals, responsibilities and a lease from food store tenant, " Kane's page of intent, resolved to city-manager Ruffin Hall, states. (papers at the end regarding the post.)
In July, another property management company called the Lundy Group, Inc. agreed to the acquisition the land from the city for $3.08 million, without the terms.
Final month, Raleigh's City Council voted to rezone property at 301 Hillsborough Street-to allow for a 20-story project. To the ire of inexpensive housing advocates, the city chose to start a formal bidding duration and will, apparently, sell the land to whomever makes the most readily useful offer. Council has not yet however authorized the desired, formal bidding period.
